About the Artist
The Heart Behind the Script
I believe in meaning that matters. When I take up my brush, my intent is to bring a sense of soul to the characters I write. Translation is not a mechanical exchange; it is a promise to protect the weight of your intent. I founded Hana Sketch to return to the 初心 (Beginner’s Heart) of this craft, a place where the beauty of a line and the precision of a word truly resonate.
My path began over twenty years ago as a student of translation, graduating from a university department that was eventually shuttered in favour of automation. In the years since, I have seen so many people settle for "pretty" characters while remaining unaware of the hollow reality behind them. It is how people end up with "Peking Duck" etched into their skin. They chose a silhouette they found aesthetic, only to find it held no truth.
I hope you can join me in this journey to dive into the words, the handwriting, and the meaning behind them. My wish is for you to feel the warmth, the touch, and the love within every stroke—the very things that are simply not replaceable by AI.
